We identified an embryo yellow (eye) mutation in Arabidopsis that leads to the abnormal coloration and morphology of embryos. The eye mutant formed bushy plants, with aberrant organization of the shoot apical meristem (SAM) and unexpanded leaves with irregular phyllotaxy.
