TNF-alpha inducing protein (Tip alpha) is secreted from Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori): it is a potent inducer of TNF-alpha and chemokine genes, mediated through NF-kappaB activation, and it also induces tumor-promoting activity in Bhas 42 cells.
