Two strictly aerobic, Gram-negative, gliding, apricot- to pale-orange-pigmented, rod-shaped bacteria, strains YM11-185T and YM11-159, were isolated from marine sediments in the Republic of Palau. Preliminary analysis based on the 16S rRNA gene sequence revealed that the novel isolates could be affiliated with the family 'Flammeovirgaceae' of the phylum Bacteroidetes.
