Two Gram-negative, anaerobic, non-spore-forming, rod-shaped organisms were isolated from human amniotic fluid. Based on morphological and biochemical criteria, the strains were tentatively identified as Bacteroidaceae but they did not appear to correspond to any recognized species of this family.
