Refinement of previous QTL on porcine chromosome 12 for fatty-acid composition and a candidate gene association analysis were conducted using an Iberian x Landrace cross. The concentrations of ten fatty acids were assayed in backfat tissue from which four metabolic ratios were calculated for 403 F2 animals. Linkage analysis identified two significant QTL.
