House mice carrying aberrant chromosome 1 with an insertion of homogeneously stained regions (HSR) have been studied. The mice were collected in the North Caucasus, Chita and Amur oblasts, Spitzbergen and Kunashir Islands, Altai krai, Khabarovsk krai, Primorye, Sakhalin, Kamchatka, Turkmenistan, and Kazakhstan.
