Left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) is primarily or secondarily caused by a cardiovascular or systemic disease. The pattern of LVH is distinctive in hypertrophic or metabolic cardiomyopathy and differs from that seen in LVH caused by hypertension or aortic stenosis.
