A strain of Nonomuraea was isolated from Maheshkhali, Cox's Bazar, an unexplored region of Bangladesh. Strain 16-5-14(T) is a Gram-positive, aerobic, non-motile actinomycete that formed branched substrate and aerial mycelia.
