Erythrocytosis is a rare disorder in childhood and is mainly secondary to causes such as long-term chronic cardiopulmonary diseases or haemoglobin dysfunction. In some cases, polycythaemia is found when renal, hepatic or cerebellar tumours are diagnosed.
