BACKGROUND: Evidence of vulvar human papillomavirus infection varies and the frequency of the different genotypes has not been adequately assessed. METHODS: Fifty consecutive sexually active healthy patients with vulvodynia and suspected of human papillomavirus infection underwent a vulvoscopy and biopsy.
