Human chromosomes contain about one million copies of dispersed repeats of the Alu family which are distributed non-randomly. In this study we have compared the pattern of hybridization of tritiated Alu-probes on chromosomes of PHA-stimulated lymphocytes of normal donors and of non-stimulated bone marrow cells of acute leukemia patients, and found regular differences in this pattern over some chromosome bands...
