A Gram-positive, rod-shaped, yellow-pigmented actinomycete, designated strain SBS-26(T), was isolated from a sample of black sand from Samyang Beach on Jeju Island (Republic of Korea) and was subjected to polyphasic characterization to unravel its taxonomic status.
