Familial hypercholesterolaemia (FH) is an autosomal dominant disorder characterized by high levels of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) as a result of mutations that impair their removal from plasma.The clinical consequence is a high risk of premature cardiovascular disease.
