A novel actinomycete, strain KST3-10(T), was isolated from sand sediment of a beach in Jeju, Korea, and was subjected to polyphasic taxonomic characterization. The organism produced circular, smooth, translucent, apricot-coloured colonies comprising coccoid- or rod-shaped cells.
