The ribosomal gene intergenic region from Arabidopsis thaliana contains four clusters of mutually unrelated repeated sequences. By comparison with the respective regions in two other Brassicaceae, Raphanus and Sinapis, the putative promoter sequence for RNA polymerase I was located.
