PCR amplification and sequencing of two separate regions of the nuclear ribosomal repeat region revealed that Polycytella hominis, a hyphomycete isolated from a human case of mycetoma, was genetically indistinguishable from Scedosporium apiospermum (the anamorph of Pseudallescheria boydii).
