Dehydroascorbate reductase (DHAR) is a key component of the ascorbate recycling system. Three functional DHAR genes are encoded in the Arabidopsis genome. Ozone exposure increased the expression of the cytosolic DHAR (cytDHAR) gene alone. We characterized an Arabidopsis mutant with a deficient cytDHAR.
