The lipopolysaccharide (LPS) of a galU mutant of Pseudomonas aeruginosa PA103, a serogroup O11 strain, was sequentially extracted with phenol-chloroform-petroleum ether (PCP) followed by hot phenol-water extraction of the bacterial pellet remaining after PCP extraction.
