We assessed the genetic diversity in Japanese indigenous common buckwheat (Fagopyrum esculentum) cultivars using amplified fragment length polymorphism (AFLP) and simple sequence repeat (SSR) markers and investigated the relationships between the genetic diversity and agronomic traits.
