Troponin (Tn) is made up of three subunits, troponin T (TnT), troponin I (TnI), and troponin C (TnC). In cardiac muscle, TnI can exist as two isoforms, slow skeletal TnI (ssTnI) or cardiac TnI (cTnI), whereas TnT occurs as multiple isoforms.
