We monitored the phenotypic and genotypic changes that occur when two behavioral races come into contact in laboratory populations. Drosophila melanogaster from Zimbabwe and nearby regions (Z type) show strong but asymmetric sexual isolation from their cosmopolitan counterparts (M type).
