Family hypercholesterolemia (FH) is a genetic disorder caused by mutation in the low density lipoprotein receptor (LDLR) gene. It is characterized by a high concentration of low density lipoprotein (LDL), which frequently gives rise to tendon xanthenes and premature coronary artery disease.
