Gastric cancer (GC) is the main cause of mortality by cancer in Colombia. Glutathione S-transferase (GST) enzymes are involved in the detoxification of many environmental carcinogens. The homozygous deletions of glutathione S-transferase M1 (GSTM1-0) and glutathione S-transferase T1 (GSTT1-0) have been associated with several types of cancer.
