We assessed proteomic profiles as biomarkers for monitoring cell phenotypes. Protein expression profiles were obtained by fluorescence two-dimensional difference gel electrophoresis (2-D-DIGE), in which quantitative ability is improved by labeling proteins with fluorescent dyes prior to electrophoresis.
