A pot experiment was carried out in a greenhouse to investigate the interactive effects of Zn-Cd on the growth and the uptake of Cd and Zn by two barley genotypes (Sahara and Clipper). The results showed that under the conditions of this experiment, adding Cd and Zn had no significant effect on the shoot biomass of either cultivars, but applying Zn tended to reduce the root biomass of both cultivars.
