Six clinical isolates of Enterobacter cloacae isolated in a Portuguese hospital, between April 1999 and November 2000, demonstrated resistance to almost all broad-spectrum cephalosporins, except to cefepime. These isolates were susceptible to quinolones and to aminoglycosides.
