Shwachman-Diamond syndrome (SDS; OMIM 260400) is an autosomal recessive disorder characterized by exocrine pancreatic insufficiency, bone marrow dysfunction and metaphyseal chondrodysplasia. SDS is caused by mutations in SBDS, an uncharacterized gene.
