A full-length cDNA clone encoding deoxyhypusine synthase (DHS) was isolated from a cDNA expression library prepared from senescing leaves of Arabidopsis thaliana. Southern blot analysis indicated that DHS is encoded by a single-copy gene in Arabidopsis.
