Mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) restriction fragment length polymorphisms (RFLPs) were investigated in 95 individuals, consisting of 49 San ('Bushmen') and 46 Nama ('Hottentot') individuals from Namibia, using the restriction enzymes HpaI, BamHI, HaeII, MspI, AvaII and HincII.
