OBJECTIVE: To confirm alpha-1-AT deficiency status in duodenal ulcer using a combination of PCR and restricted enzyme digestion. METHODS: Fifty patients with endoscopically proven duodenal ulcer and hundred controls with no signs of the disease were included.
