The multidrug resistance (MDR) phenotype in Entamoeba histolytica is characterized by the overexpression of the EhPgp5 gene in trophozoites grown in high drug concentrations. Here we evaluated the role of EhPgp5 mRNA stability on MDR using actinomycin D.
