Positional cloning of the hcf109 (high chlorophyll fluorescence) mutation in Arabidopsis has identified a nucleus-encoded, plastid-localized release factor 2-like protein, AtprfB, indicating that the processes of translational termination in chloroplasts resemble those of eubacteria.
