Simple sequence repeat (SSR) markers were developed for cultivated sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.) from the DNA sequences of 970 clones isolated from genomic DNA libraries enriched for (CA)n,, (CT)n, (CAA)n, (CATA)n, or (GATA)n.
