The Smith-Lemli-Opitz syndrome (SLOS), or RSH syndrome, is a well-characterized multiple congenital anomalies/mental retardation syndrome. The phenotype has been redefined to include mildly affected individuals with minor anomalies and developmental delay, and severe malformations with pre- and perinatal mortality.
