The accumulation of full-length HIV genome sequences in the different regions of the world led to a new view to the HIV pandemic. It is recognized that subtypes and intersubtype recombinants are equally important in the pandemic. In this article, we will discuss the latest findings on molecular epidemiology of HIV and the related subjects.
