OBJECTIVE: To determine the cause of sporadic rippling muscle disease (RMD) in a 24-year-old patient. BACKGROUND: RMD is a rare myopathy characterized by percussion-induced rapid muscle contractions (PIRC), muscle mounding, and rippling waves.
