We recently found that femoral intima media thickness, as well as the incidence of hypertension, is influenced by genes encoding the angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE; insertion/deletion [I/D]) polymorphism, alpha-adducin (Gly460Trp), and aldosterone synthase (-344C/T).
