An analysis of a new medusa mutant of Aspergillus nidulans obtained by 5-azacytidine-treatment and named B116 is provided. The B116 mutant was phenotypically characterized by the production of conidiophores with reduced pigmentation and vesicles bearing multiple tiers of sterigmata.
