Smith-Lemli-Opitz syndrome (RHS) (SLOS, OMIM 270400) is an autosomal recessive disorder of cholesterol biosynthesis caused by mutations of the 3beta-hydroxysterol Delta(7)-Delta(8)-reductase gene, DHCR7.
