Hereditary pancreatitis is an autosomal dominant form of chronic pancreatitis. It presents with recurrent attacks of acute pancreatitis, usually starting in early childhood. The attacks may vary from mild abdominal pain to pancreatic necrosis, splenic vein thrombosis, pseudocysts and death.
