Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy is a disease of the cardiac sarcomere and is the most common inherited cardiovascular disorder affecting up to 1 in 500 people in the general population. The disease is typified by variable clinical penetrance and heterogeneous clinical expression, resulting in a wide range of clinical manifestations.
