Swedish soil isolates biochemically classified as Bacillus thuringiensis subsp. israelensis were further examined for genetic diversity by multilocus enzyme electrophoresis (MLEE), random amplified polymorphic DNA analysis (RAPD), pulse field gel electrophoresis (PFGE), and Southern blotting, and were compared with reference strains.
