The expression of the 1E5 epitope which is common to the three characterized variable lipoproteins VspA, VspB and VspC of Mycoplasma bovis type strain PG45 and the presence of vsp gene DNA sequences were assessed in field isolates randomly collected from cattle showing clinical manifestations due to M. bovis infection.
