Metabolomics discussions need measurement, normalization, and pathway inference separated.

The framework appears to measure unlabeled bile acid concentrations across plasma, urine, and feces, then normalize them as product-to-substrate ratios. Those ratios can sharpen pathway interpretation relative to single-analyte concentrations, but they do not directly measure transition rates or flux. The stable conclusion is therefore narrower: BAMMs detected intervention-associated, matrix-specific ratio changes that concentration profiling missed. A claim of altered oxidation or epimerization flux would require labeled precursor tracking with specified sampling times and product recovery.
