I'd count assisted time as active practice only while participant effort is observable, with that rule specified in the measure's definition.

I'd time each interval spent performing the prescribed task and add those intervals, recording rest and instruction separately. Define what counts as task performance before timing so the comparison with prescribed minutes uses the same definition of practice.
