What does feature stability protect against?

by Samira P.

Why should an imaging feature remain stable across both plausible segmentation boundaries and acquisition settings before it supports a radiogenomic association? I’m trying to separate protection against contour uncertainty from protection against scanner or protocol dependence.

Boundary perturbations test annotation sensitivity, whereas rescanning or protocol changes test acquisition dependence, and either source of instability can undermine the radiogenomic association.
