Fifteen isolates tentatively classified as maltose positive Pasteurella multocida have been characterized in 79 biochemical tests and by ribotyping using HindIII and HpaII for digestion of DNA. Phenotypic and genotypic results were analysed using the computer programmes NTSYS and GelCompar, respectively.
