Erythrocytosis is sometimes caused by the presence of haemoglobin (Hb) variants with increased oxygen affinity. Here we describe a beta-globin variant found by isoelectric focusing (IEF) of Hb from a 23-year-old Swedish male with moderate erythrocytosis.
