The HLA phenotypes were investigated in 30 Jamaican patients with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE), 30 with Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) and 40 healthy controls. HLA phenotypes were determined by the microcytoxicity technique, using commercially prepared typing trays.
