GDP-mannose dehydrogenase (GMD) is a key regulatory enzyme and the committal step in alginate biosynthesis. In this study, a metabolic approach has been used to investigate GMD activity in non-mucoid and isogenically related mucoid strains of Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
